Sanctuary of Montecastello
Built on a spur of limestone rock overlooking the lake, on the ruins of an ancient temple, later transformed into a castle, with its ancient frescoes from the Giotto school and its incredible panoramic view of the lake, the Sanctuary of Monte Castello is one of the main attractions of Tignale. You can easily reach it thanks to an easy path or a road that can also be traveled by car.
Trekking – Walking
A perfect destination for those who love walking in nature admiring the splendid landscapes, Tignale is the ideal place for trekking and walking enthusiasts. The area offers different types of routes, from the most challenging for experienced and trained hikers to the simplest for beginners: all of them offer emotions, experiences and unforgettable landscapes.
Mountain biking
More than a thousand kilometers of signposted routes suitable for different levels of expertiese, from beginners who just want to be outdoors to the more experienced who love more demanding challenges. The breathtaking views and the beauty of nature guarantee all enthusiasts unforgettable moments of total freedom.
Windsurf, Kitesurf, Sailing, Canyoning
Lake Garda is the ideal place for lovers of “water” sports. The northern part of the lake is particularly suitable for those who love sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and canyoning. There are many centers that allow even non-experts to experience exciting adventures.
“Flying Frogs” Adventure Park
The park, immersed in the woods, offers different difficulty levels routes in the trees. In complete safety you will be able to experience the pleasure of climbing to their top and walking “at high altitude”, and then indulge in the thrill of the rapid descents, under the attentive assistance of the staff.
Tennis
In Tignale there are three outdoor tennis courts and an indoor tennis court. You can rent a court, or you can rely on an instructor to acquire or improve your technique.
Turnaria Dairy – Organic Oil Mill
It was founded at the beginning of the last century for the production of dairy products. In the end of the 1990s it was converted into an organic oil mill, with the aim of restoring the prized Tignalese olive-growing heritage and related activities. You can buy organic products (oil, jams, vegetable preserves) and join guided tours and tastings.
Limonaia Pra’ de la Fam – Port of Tignale
In past times, the cultivation and trade of citrus fruits were very important for Garda economy. The Tignale lemon house is one of the few still active in the production of lemons, oranges, kumquats, mandarins and grapefruits. Since 2011 it is part of the Ecomuseum of the Garda lemon groves and it can be visited.
Cima Piemp Refuge
The Cima Piemp Refuge enjoys a unique panorama, at the end of a pleasant walk or a short trip by car or mountain bike. It is managed directly by the Alpini Group of Tignale and has a small bar. For groups of at least 10 people it is possible to book dinner and overnight stay with a sleeping bag.
How to reach us
BY CAR
From Bergamo and Brescia Ghedi: take the A4 motorway in the direction of Venice and exit at Brescia Est.
From Verona: take the A4 motorway in the direction of Milan and exit at Desenzano. At the motorway exit, follow the signs for Lago di Garda -> Salò / Riva del Garda.
From Brennero: via the A22 motorway, exit at Mori/Rovereto Sud and follow the signs for Torbole/Riva del Garda and, from here, for Salò/Brescia.
Warning: if you use satellite navigation, set to "fastest route" and NOT to "shortest route"
Both coming from Riva del Garda and from Salò you will travel along the “Gardesana Occidentale” state road. Between Gargnano and Limone you will find the crossroads for Tignale. Proceed along the road, pass the town of Oldesio and cross the town of Gardola.
At the hairpin bend, turn right towards Tremosine. Proceed for approximately 1.5 km passing the crossroads on the right for the Sanctuary of Montecastello, at the next crossroads turn right for Prabione.
Enter the small village of Prabione, pass the Bar Lily 2.0 on your left and, after a short climb of 50 m, turn right. A few meters ahead, on the left, you will find the Agriturismo Al Lambic car park.
BY BUS
You can reach Tignale by bus from Rovereto (Trento), via Arco-Riva del Garda, from Brescia or from Desenzano del Garda (Brescia). In any case, you will have to get off at Gargnano from where a bus leaves 3 times a day for Tignale and ends its run in Prabione, few steps away from the Agriturismo.
BY TRAIN
The closest train stations are located in Desenzano (in the southern area of Lake Garda) and in Rovereto (in the northern part of Lake Garda). Then you'll be requested to continue the journey by bus or by car, renting one.
